The Pastor's Page
Dear Folks,
We would like to share with you some of the exciting things that are happening at the Earlville and Poolville United Methodist Churches; things are different than they use to be. Our music is a blend of traditional and contemporary music. We begin with a traditional hymn and then we sing contemporary songs. The worship is now more participation and spirit-led rather than performance based. We like to get everyone involved at a level where he or she feels secure and able.
We seriously believe that Jesus Christ’s presence can visit us during our service, and that makes our worship very personal. We expect, and have seen, miracles happen, as God sees fit.
We try to live our lives according to the Bible. We are not free from sin but, the Lord is transforming us and we are trying to be the people that God wants us to be. God does not call us to be perfect, but he does call us to be committed to him.
The more we learn about the Bible, the more excited we become about God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible. During the worship service, we express that excitement in many different ways. Some people clap their hands during a song, some will raise their hands or faces in adoration, and some will raise voices to sing out. Everyone gets involved right where he or she is spiritually. We get excited about the things God is doing in our personal lives and in the church.
We are a transformed church that is continuing our transformation through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We are called as a church to serve Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and we are called to reach out to the community, to you, and accept you as you are. We will try to help you in any way that we can, whether it be physically, spiritually, or by encouragement. If you are looking for a church that cares, a church that is reaching out, and one that is growing spiritually as well as physically, then come and worship with us on Sunday mornings or try our Prayer and Praise Service on Thursday Evenings at 7 pm in Earlville. We are located on 20 North Main Street in Earlville (11 am) and next to the Poolville Country Store in Poolville (9:30 am). We look forward to worshipping with you. Everyone is welcome in this house of God. We are a church where everybody is somebody.
God Loves you and so do we,
Earlville and Poolville United Methodist Churches
